·     First check for any physical damage to transducer(s) and the cables. Any cuts or abrasions to the cable should be investigated.
·     Check for continuity between the amplifier and plug. This should be carried out on each wire and between the earth and each wire to ensure that there are no short circuits. Resistance checks will reveal any problems with interconnections.
·     Using an Ohmmeter to check the strain gauge readings between the transducer and amplifier should be carried out with the transducer plug inserted and the wire disconnected from the amplifier.

Any significant variation from the values indicated in the table may that the transducer has been damaged or a short circuit has occurred.
